Dr. Ji earned a Ph.D., Master’s degree and Bachelor of Arts degree at reputable universities in China and the U.S., with a focus on low-income immigrant families and public health care. Her research has involved areas such as low-income Asian American and Asian immigrant education, cancer prevention and control, and immigrant family parenting practices. She is now currently a scientist and instructor at a well-known university in Washington, DC.

Dr. Ji retained us to file an NIW case after a consultation with our firm. Compared to our firm’s other NIW clients, her qualifications were not as impressive. Dr. Ji did not have any articles published at the time of submission, but only had one article accepted pending for publication and a few papers presented at conferences in the field. Realizing her weakness in academic achievements, our experienced attorney emphasized her important roles in many national projects with grants from the federal government on Asian immigrant family studies. With no journal publications to her name, our attorneys used strong recommendation letters from professors and experts at prestigious universities and national nonprofit organizations to highlight her great contributions and substantial impact on the public health and quality of life of low-income immigrant families to the U.S.

Dr. Ji’s NIW petition was sent to USCIS in mid June 2009 and was approved at the end of July 2009 even without a RFE. The case was approved only 45 days after submission. Given that Dr. Ji had no academic articles published, both the client and our attorney were thrilled by this favorable outcome. Once again, our firm Yu & Associates showed our excellence in mastery of such difficult cases.
