Dr. Gong
Dr. Gong holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Molecular Cancer Biology from a high-ranking research university in the U.S., and earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology from one of the top universities in China. He conducts cancer research at one of the foremost biomedical research institutes in the U.S.
Although Dr. Gong lacked certain attributes that other clients possessed such as national or international awards and prestigious memberships, our team constructed a convincing case based on his important contributions and his extremely influential articles in top cancer and biochemistry journals as well as other evidence such as review invitations, media reports on his work, and recommendation letters from scientists at front rank universities and research institutes.
Dr. Gong¡¯s case was submitted in July 2010, and our firm received an RFE in July 2011 requesting more evidence, because during that period, the USCIS lifted the legal standard by applying two-step Kazarian analysis. In the RFE, the USCIS clearly stated that Dr. Gong has met three criteria as required to prove his extraordinary abilities, but more evidence needs to be submitted to indicate his extraordinary abilities have been demonstrated by sustained national or international acclaim. Although our attorney had already argued this requirement in the original submission, we had to rebut USCIS by submitting more relevant evidence. By setting up a practical strategy for responding the RFE, we advised Dr. Gong to submit strong expert opinion letters attesting to this issue along with other various supporting documents.
As a result of our compelling proof and legal arguments filed in response to the RFE in August 2011, the USCIS finally approved this case the following month. Both the client and our firm were very pleased with this favorable result after an intricate rebuttal process.
