Dr. Rajaram

Dr. Rajaram is an exceptional scientist with extensive experience in the field of surface engineering and nanotechnology. He received his Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Physics from prestigious universities in India and the U.S. He worked as a research fellow with a well-established university in North Carolina, particularly focused on the development of nanotechnology for plant biology and agricultural biotechnology.

Yu & Associates' attorney discussed the qualifications of Dr. Rajaram thoroughly and prepared a petition with strong arguments and convincing supporting documents. We proved to USCIS that Dr. Rajaram is an alien of extraordinary ability who is at the top of his field by providing evidence showing his scientific breakthroughs in the field, his publications, his membership in professional associations, and his invitations to serve as a reviewer for scientific journals.

Due to our rich experience in handling these types of cases, Dr. Rajaram’s EB-1a petition was approved in July 2009.

Dr. Xia

Dr. Xia is a scientist in the field of medical research and currently works at a pharmaceutical company. Dr. Xia has at least three years of experience at a top university in the U.S. in medical research. He has contributed to creating new research methods and tools to design and develop drugs which could provide safer and more effective solutions for diseases of the immune system. His original methods will aid pharmaceutical companies in shortening the time and cost of drug development.

Dr. Xia retained our firm for his EB-1(b) petition. He only had four publications, which was not quite impressive. Other available supporting documents included membership certificates for scientific societies and citations of his articles. We considered Dr. Xia’s case to be not very strong when compared to other EB-1a cases handled by our firm. Our firm received an RFE for this case, requesting further demonstration of Dr. Xia’s qualifications for the requirements of outstanding researcher under EB-1(b), the level and significance of the journals that have published Dr. Xia’s articles, and documents that establish Dr. Xia’s employer has the financial ability to pay the proffered wage. Our attorney carefully analyzed this RFE and responded to the RFE based on our rich experience and solid professional capability. We proved Dr. Xia’s value as an outstanding researcher and his top place in his field. Evidence provided included positions and memberships in science societies, a patent pending in the US, published articles in scientific journals, the level of the journals, citations of his work, and attestations from other researchers. Additionally, we discussed with the client and made efforts to submit some documents concerning the employer’s financial situation to satisfy USCIS although the financial statements showed a loss.

Our firm filed Dr. Xia’s EB-1(b) petition in July 2008 with the USCIS Texas Service Center, and the case was approved in May 2009 after we submitted the response to RFE to the USCIS.
